FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Record Shattering Paraglider flight one day from St. John's goal.
September 4th, 2009 - Clarenville, NF
- Benjamin Jordan is following his dreams and breaking a world record while flying a powered paraglider 10,000 km across Canada to raise money to send kids to camp.
Less than a single 120 km flight from his 10,000 km goal, Jordan and his team are stuck in Clarenville, at the mercy of Newfoundland's strong winds and anticipating a relatively calm flying window to open Saturday morning.
He hopes to launch by 7:00 AM Saturday, September 5th and arrive in St John's around 9:30 AM, making his final landing in a football field bordering the North side of Quidi Vidi Lake. Please call Friday night or early Saturday morning for exact times and landing location.
Formation photographs from schools and camps across Canada are being featured in a book and sold to benefit the charities of each province. ABOVE+BEYOND has teamed up with the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign in Newfoundland to ensure that kids all over the province get to experience the wonder of summer camp, regardless of their family's financial state.
